How it works
A ride with no driver, and no guesswork
From request to arrival, the experience is designed to be legible. You always know what the vehicle is doing, what the fare is, and how to reach a human.
The journey
Six steps, start to finish
Every stage below is how we intend the service to run at launch. Details will firm up as vehicle partners and regulatory approvals are confirmed.
1
Request
Enter pickup and destination in the app. You see a fixed fare and an estimated arrival time before you confirm. No surge multipliers, no fare changes mid-trip.
2
Match
The nearest available vehicle is assigned and routed to a designated pickup point, chosen for a safe, legal stop rather than the closest kerb.
3
Unlock
The car unlocks for you and no one else. The cabin is private for the whole trip, with no ride sharing unless you choose it.
4
Drive
The vehicle handles the full driving task within the service area. Screens show what it senses and what it plans to do next, so the ride is never a black box.
5
Support
A remote support team is one tap away for the entire trip, and can speak with you, reroute the vehicle or bring it to a safe stop.
6
Arrive
The car pulls into a safe drop-off point. Payment settles automatically and your receipt lands in the app.
The technology
What is actually driving
We are a fleet operator, not a chip designer. Our plan is to run proven automated driving systems from established vehicle partners, and to focus our own engineering on the things that decide whether a fleet works in Sydney: depot operations, charging, remote support, mapping and demand.
Sensing
Overlapping cameras, radar and lidar give the vehicle a continuous view around itself, including at night and in rain, without relying on any single sensor type.
Mapping
Every street in the service area is surveyed in advance, down to lane markings, kerb heights and legal stopping points. The vehicle drives only where it has been mapped and validated.
Remote support
Trained operators monitor the fleet, answer riders and advise vehicles that encounter something unusual, such as a closed road or an unclear worksite.
Fares
Priced up front, every time
Fixed fares quoted before you confirm. No surge pricing during storms, strikes or late-night peaks. No tipping. Pricing is intended to sit in line with existing Sydney point-to-point services at launch, with the goal of falling as utilisation rises.
Fare structures cannot be finalised until vehicle costs and regulatory conditions are settled. Nothing on this page is an offer of service.
Questions we get asked
What happens if it rains?
The fleet is designed to operate in rain. Extreme conditions, such as flooding or heavy smoke, will trigger a service pause in the affected area rather than a degraded ride.
Can I bring luggage or a pram?
Yes. Airport runs are a core use case, so boot space and easy loading are part of the vehicle specification we are selecting against.
What about accessibility?
Wheelchair accessible vehicles are part of the fleet plan, not an afterthought. We will publish accessibility commitments before any public service begins.
